Setup and Equipment
No. All Smallbiz TV conversations are created and recorded at no cost to you. You only pay if you decide to purchase the audio or video content.
You have a couple of options - you can use the Chrome browser on either your computer or mobile device. We strongly recommend using an external microphone and headphones or earpods. This ensures that the sound quality is good (reduces that echo you often hear on videos) and that you can hear our half of the conversation.
Obviously, we don't want too much distraction around you - it makes it difficult for you to concentrate and also distracts the people who are viewing/listening later. That said, if you are recording in your workplace, there is always likely to be some background noise.
Everyone says the same thing!
The reason your voice sounds different is that there is no sound transmitting to your ear directly from your mouth. Don't worry - you sound fine. You're just not used to hearing it.
Conversation Content
We are communicators not videographers. StreamYard makes it easy for us to create some cost-effective video content in the form of a conversation. If you want more than the services we offer, we would recommend finding a local videographer who can work with you - we know some that we could recommend to you if you are interested.
Just a warning though - the cost of something more creative will be quite a bit higher.
It is quite normal to feel nervous if you haven't done a lot of video / audio recording before. A couple of things to remember:
1. This is a conversation not a presentation. We have been involved in a lot of conversations like these before - many with people who were really nervous. Our job is to make sure that the conversation is heading in the right direction and that you are comfortable.
2. Your specialist subject is "your business" - no one knows more about it than you do.
Using my content
Anyway you want!
You will be given a copy of the audio (mp3 format) and/or the video (mp4 format) once you have paid in full. You can then upload it and use it anywhere - your social media, your web site, your own podcast, etc.
We will also upload any purchased video content to YouTube as a public video on our Smallbiz TV channel. This means that you can also link to it from your social media / web site by using the Share or Embed options available from YouTube.
We will include purchased audio into The Smallbiz TV Podcast as an episode. This means that anyone subscribing to The Smallbiz TV Podcast will be able to listen to your episode!
We will also upload purchased video onto our Smallbiz TV YouTube channel. This means that when people visit our channel they will have the opportunity to learn about your business.
These uploads into the podcast and YouTube channel are included in the cost of purchasing the content.
